This question came up from a client last week and it was surprisingly hard to find an answer. But find it I did, from Microsoft’s Cloud Sales Manager in the UK.
The question was related to SharePoint Online. With SharePoint Online Plan 1, you get 0.5GB of storage for £3.50 per user per month. Your total storage allowance is shared between all users, which makes sense because it’s a collaboration platform. So if you have 100 users, you can have a 50GB central store for all users to access.
If you need more storage (now or as your data grows with time) you can, if you like, add more users at £3.50 per user per month. But the cheaper way of doing it is to add storage, which is £1.63 per GB per month. That’s the UK price; in the US it’s $2.50 per GB per month.
I can’t find a way of buying this online at the moment. You have to contact Microsoft’s online sales team. Hope that helps.
